Darwin Inspired Learning: Ages 11-14

Collector: Ann V.

Inspire young scientists to investigate the natural world, promote an understanding and excitement about how the environment works and how we affect it with four unit modules. Scholars investigate Darwin’s research into bees, consider the impact of artificial selection in wild versus domesticated animals, and engage in an activity discussing why Darwin planted a hedge to study change over time. Scholars then design their experiments on environmental change. The last lesson in the series outlines how the Galapagos islands developed the diversity in their populations. The series presumes that classes can visit a local garden, nature reserve, or park.
