EngageNY Grade 8 ELA Module 4: Sustainability of the US Food Supply Chain
Collector:
Ann V.
Where does our food come from? Eighth graders research food chains and the consequences for stakeholders affected by those food chains. Using Michael Pollan’s, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, as a core text, the three units in this module teach pupils how to analyze arguments and the evidence used to support arguments. They research the implications of various choices then craft a position paper in which they advocate for the food chain they believe would feed everyone in the United States.
