There are three little words every teacher is just dying to hear; investigate, discuss, and play. Kids love those words too, and they'll love finding out what types of things children did for fun long ago. As homework, they interview their parents or grandparents to see what types of games they used to play. The interviews lead to a class discussion on why different games have been played throughout history. The lesson concludes as the whole class plays a traditional Native American game that was used originally to teach young children survival skills.
