Life is like trying to juggle three tennis balls! That's the big idea in a activity that asks freshmen to consider that sometimes juggling the areas of their lives (social/emotion, academic, and career) runs smoothly and sometimes not so much. The activities in the activity are designed to give individuals the skills they need to manage all three areas successfully.
- Invite a school counselor to observe the lesson and provide feedback
- Requires extra prep time to collect required materials including tennis balls, sticky notes, chart paper for two outlines of the human body, and individual copies of multiple worksheets
- Class members complete a "Self-concept Checklist" that helps them examine the positive and negative aspects of their self-concept
- The "Improving Your Self-Concept" worksheet offers ways for developing and maintaining a positive self-concept
